Inheritance Statement

If probate proceedings are being conducted before the competent authority in Serbia, an heir residing in Qatar may have an inheritance statement or a power of attorney for making an inheritance statement certified at the Embassy in Doha.

A solemnised inheritance statement may also be certified at the Embassy in Doha in the following cases:

• An inheritance statement by which the heir accepts the inheritance and simultaneously transfers it to another heir
• An inheritance statement by which the heir accepts the inheritance to which they are entitled by law and simultaneously accepts the inheritance transferred to them by other heirs
• An inheritance statement by which the heir renounces the inheritance in favour of another heir
• A negative inheritance statement—renunciation of the deceased’s estate
• A spouse’s statement concerning separate property

The personal presence of the signatory is required, together with a valid passport of the Republic of Serbia.
