Marriage Registration
A marriage cannot be solemnised at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Doha.
Citizens of the Republic of Serbia may marry in the State of Qatar, but they must report this fact to the Embassy in Doha for registration in the Marriage Register in Serbia.
A marriage concluded contrary to the provisions of the Family Law of the Republic of Serbia cannot be entered in the civil registers in Serbia and has no legal effect in Serbia.
The application is submitted by one of the spouses. If one spouse is a foreign national, the application must be submitted by the spouse who is a citizen of the Republic of Serbia.
The Embassy registers the marriage electronically, while the applicant must personally submit the original document to the Registrar upon their first visit to the Republic of Serbia, at which time they will receive an extract from the Marriage Register.
The following documents are required for marriage registration:
- Marriage registration application form (Пријава брака_2.doc)
- Extract from the Marriage Register of Qatar: original and translation into Serbian in the Cyrillic script, with both documents fully legalised
- Photocopies of the passports and Qatari IDs of both spouses
