Legalisation of Public Documents – Full Legalisation

Public documents are documents issued by the competent authorities concerning facts recorded in their official records. They are issued in the prescribed form and bear the signature of an authorised person and the seal of the issuing authority. Public documents include certificates, attestations, diplomas, school certificates, and similar documents.

The State of Qatar is not a signatory to the Hague Convention. Therefore, all documents issued in Qatar must undergo the so-called full legalisation procedure in order to be accepted in Serbia.

The legalisation of Qatari public documents for use in Serbia is carried out by the competent authorities of the State of Qatar, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar being the final authority in the process.

The document is then legalised by the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Doha and may be used in the Republic of Serbia.

The document must first be translated into Serbian in the Cyrillic script by an authorised translator.

Both the original document and the translation must be legalised.

The personal presence of the person to whom the public document relates is not required.

An appointment for the legalisation of a document must be scheduled by email: embsrbqat@gmail.com.

Consular fee: EUR 45 – cash.
