Military Obligation

Persons residing in Qatar are subject to the obligation to register in the military records. By registering in the military records, a person liable for military service has fulfilled their military service obligation.

The following persons must be registered in the Embassy’s military records:

  • A person permanently residing abroad, in the calendar year in which they turn 18, as well as an older person who has not previously been registered
  • A person intending to reside temporarily abroad for more than one year, who is required to report to the Embassy in Doha within 30 days of crossing the state border

For persons registered in the military records of the Republic of Serbia, the relevant Centre of the Ministry of Defence shall, ex officio, issue a decision on their transfer to the reserve force after they reach the age of 30.
